A high lift conversion is one of those jobs that looks simple on the surface but has a lot of moving parts - literally. The tracks, the springs, the vertical rises, the opener position - everything has to work together. If any one piece is off, the whole system pays for it over time. That's exactly why we don't cut corners on these.
What we're working with here is a two-door garage setup, both outfitted with high lift conversions. The horizontal tracks run tight and clean along the ceiling, keeping the doors up and out of the way when open. That extra vertical rise is what gives you usable ceiling space that a standard setup just can't offer. It's a big deal if you're storing taller vehicles, adding a lift, or just want to maximize what your garage can actually do.
The LiftMaster openers are wall-mounted, which pairs perfectly with a high lift setup. Standard ceiling-mounted openers don't work here - the door's travel path is different, and using the wrong hardware creates problems down the line. Wall-mount openers keep the ceiling clear and put less mechanical stress on the system overall. It's the right tool for the right job.
We do these conversions a lot, and the details matter every single time. The spring tension has to be dialed in for the new track geometry. The opener has to be positioned and programmed correctly. Everything gets tested before we leave. That's not extra effort - that's just how it should be done.
If you've been thinking about a high lift setup for your garage, the difference between a good install and a bad one shows up every single time you use that door. We build these systems to run smoothly for years, not just to get through the first inspection.
